Willow Smith slapped by Oscar

Willow Smith has opened up about her father's infamous Oscars slap.

In an interview with Billboard, the 21-year-old shared how the media fallout following the incident "didn't rock me as much as my own internal demons."

"I see my whole family as being human, and I love and accept them for all their humanness," she told the publication.

"Because of the position that we're in, our humanness sometimes isn't accepted, and we're expected to act in a way that isn't conducive to a healthy human life and isn't conducive to being honest."

Will Smith went on to win the best actor award for his role in King Richard but was later banned from attending the awards for 10 years.

Last month the Aladdin actor addressed the incident for the first time in a video on Instagram.

In the clip, he apologised to Rock, "So I will say to you, Chris, I apologise to you. My behaviour was unacceptable, and I'm here whenever you're ready to talk."

The 53-year-old also apologised to his family and said his wife Jada did not influence his actions.
